European Convention on Extradition
The 1957 Council of Europe convention, to which both Italy and Albania are parties, governs the surrender of persons between the two countries.

Mutual assistance in criminal matters
The 1959 European Convention enables Italian and Albanian authorities to cooperate, for example on service of documents and gathering evidence.

Right to an interpreter
Article 143 of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure guarantees an interpreter and translation of essential documents to anyone who does not speak Italian.
